The brief
Newcastle College wanted a large display where several people could each see their own correct 3D view on the same screen at the same time.
What we installed
Glowspace designed and installed a 4.8m × 2.25m LED Powerwall using 1.25mm pixel pitch LED running at 240Hz. The high refresh rate allows the screen to show several separate images at once, with each user's glasses picking out only their own.
Multi-view modes
- Dual stereo: two users each see their own tracked stereo 3D view.
- Quad mono: four users each see their own tracked view.
In both modes, each user's view is adjusted to their own head position. Users can look at the same object or environment from their own angle, or at completely different content, all on one screen.
How it is used
The college uses the Powerwall for engineering visualisation, virtual production and research and development.
